The seven-day “Summer Workshop–2026” organized by Assam Sanskritik Mahasabha in collaboration with Pragjyoti Sanskritik Samaj at the Pragjyoti Cultural Project in Machkhowa, Guwahati, concluded successfully.
Training was imparted in subjects including painting and handicrafts, traditional music (vocal), Sattriya dance, Bhortal, Bihu dance, yoga and meditation. A total of 234 students aged 4 to 18 years participated in the workshop.
The inaugural ceremony of the workshop was held on July 23. Balin Bordoloi, Advisor of the Social-Cultural Committee of Assam Sanskritik Mahasabha, attended as the chief guest. Khalid Umar, Chairman of the Social-Cultural Committee of Assam Sanskritik Mahasabha, also attended and inaugurated the workshop.
As part of the workshop, an awareness meeting on “Child Psychology and Child Rights Protection” was held on July 27 for children and parents. The session was conducted by Mausumi Brahma, Member of the Assam State Commission for Protection of Child Rights.
At the closing ceremony held on July 29, Iftikhar Ali, Secretary and Convenor of Assam Sanskritik Mahasabha, addressed the gathering. He urged children to develop their creativity and take pride in their cultural roots. He also distributed certificates among the participating students.
Khalid Umar, Chairman of the Social-Cultural Committee of Assam Sanskritik Mahasabha, delivered the welcome address. He congratulated the students who participated in the workshop and expressed heartfelt gratitude to the dignitaries and collaborators present.
It may be noted that Ramzan Ali served as the coordinator of the summer workshop. Arup Goswami, General Secretary of Pragjyoti Sanskritik Samaj, offered the vote of thanks.
