Arunachal Pradesh Chief Minister Pema Khandu on Friday officially flagged off the Somnath Yatra-2026 from the Arunachal Pradesh Civil Secretariat, Block-II in Itanagar.
Organised under the aegis of the Directorate of Art and Culture, Government of Arunachal Pradesh, the ceremony marked the commencement of the journey to Gujarat.
Around 40 participants from various colleges and universities, including Rajiv Gandhi University (RGU), NIT Arunachal Pradesh and Arunachal Pradesh University (APU), are taking part in the yatra.
Arunachal Pradesh Home Minister Mama Natung, Art and Culture Minister Dasanglu Pul, Chief Secretary and senior government officials were among those present during the flag-off ceremony.
The dignitaries extended their best wishes to the participants and encouraged them to make the most of the cultural and spiritual journey to Somnath, Gujarat.
