Former Chief Minister Nabam Tuki has resigned from his position as President of the Arunachal Pradesh Congress Committee (APCC).
Tuki, the senior-most Congress leader in the state and the sole remaining MLA out of the four Congress members, has been a prominent figure in Arunachal Pradesh politics for decades. Representing the Sagalee assembly constituency of Papum Pare district for six consecutive terms, Tuki served as Chief Minister from November 2011 to February 2016.
The resignation comes amidst a shifting political landscape, with three Congress MLAs recently crossing over to the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP).
