Fresh allegations of Chinese incursions have emerged from Arunachal Pradesh’s Upper Subansiri district, with residents claiming that Chinese troops recently crossed the Line of Actual Control (LAC) and entered areas near Pukar La and Ollo in the remote Taksing circle.
While neither the district administration nor security agencies have officially confirmed the claims, local residents have taken to social media, alleging that such incursions have taken place.
Nah Welfare Society (NWS) chairman Keru Chader claimed that the Chinese People’s Liberation Army (PLA) is steadily moving closer to villages in the region.
“Pukar La is located near Yaja village, while Togo village is close to Ollo. The PLA is now virtually at our doorstep,” Chader said, alleging that Chinese troops entered the two locations within the past month.
The latest allegations come months after the Nah Welfare Society made similar claims in June, accusing the PLA of expanding its presence in areas near Taksing.
In a letter to the Deputy Commissioner of Upper Subansiri district, the NWS alleged that Chinese forces had occupied several strategically significant locations, including Oying (Asaphila area), Paniar (Chujarta area), Marpan (Marnafe), Portrang Lake, and Tingdingtang, where military camps had reportedly been established.
The organisation further claimed that some of these areas had remained under Indian control until 2020.
However, the Indian Army had rejected those allegations, maintaining that the claims were not substantiated. Despite the official denial, the Nah Welfare Society has continued to assert that Chinese forces are encroaching on Indian territory and has alleged that the actual situation along the border is not being disclosed.
