Governor KT Parnaik Encourages Youth Participation in Anti-Drug Campaign

As part of the ongoing Nasha Mukt Bharat Abhiyan, Arunachal Pradesh Lok Bhavan organised declamation and painting competitions at Lok Bhavan on Tuesday to raise awareness among young people about the harmful effects of substance abuse. The initiative, undertaken at the initiative of Governor Lt Gen (Retd) KT Parnaik, sought to encourage youth to become active participants in efforts to build a drug-free society through creative expression and informed dialogue. Interacting with participants, the Governor appreciated their confidence, clarity of thought and commitment to the cause, and said such platforms help young people develop public speaking skills while encouraging critical thinking about issues affecting their communities. A total of 31 students from higher educational institutions across Arunachal Pradesh participated in the declamation competition, while 35 students from schools in and around the State capital took part in the painting competition. The participating students used speeches and artwork to express their perspectives on substance abuse and promote the message of a healthy and drug-free society. The programme highlighted the importance of collective responsibility and meaningful youth participation in combating substance abuse.
