More than 300 people gathered at the Centre for Tai Khamti Language and Folk Culture in Chongkham, Namsai district of Arunachal Pradesh on Sunday to listen to the 138th episode of Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s monthly radio programme, ‘Mann Ki Baat’.
Deputy Chief Minister Chowna Mein, who led the programme, said ‘Mann Ki Baat’ provides a platform to highlight the achievements and initiatives of local communities across the country.
Speaking to the media, Chongkham Mandal president Chow Wijikta Namchoom said about 300 people from different areas gathered at the centre and participated in the programme.
An SHG member engaged in weaving said government schemes and initiatives have helped improve women’s livelihoods and encouraged their participation in economic activities.
BJP Namsai district president Ong Maio and State general secretary Junty Singpho , ZPC , Namsai Sujana Namchoom and Basanglu Dellang, ZPC, Tirap, SHG members, mandal members, Morcha heads and other BJP functionaries were also present at the programme.
