A large-scale flood relief distribution programme was carried out across several flood-affected villages in Arunachal Pradesh’s East Siang district on Tuesday, providing essential assistance to families affected by the recent floods. The humanitarian initiative was jointly organised by the Adi Bané Kébang (ABK), Adi Bané Kébang Youth Wing (ABKYW) and the Adi Students’ Union (AdiSU).
Relief materials were collected through an online voluntary contribution campaign and donation drives held in Pasighat, Boleng, Yingkiong, Itanagar and Namsai. The supplies were distributed to flood-affected households in the villages of Sido, Kora, Ledum, Bilat, Mirem, Boying, Mongku and Rasam, ensuring that assistance reached some of the worst-affected communities.
The relief mission was led by ABK Apex President Tanon Tatak, Vice President Olen Megu Damin, Disaster Management Secretary Adul Siram, ABKYW President Oki Dai, General Secretary Anit Tamuk and AdiSU General Secretary Dolen Saring. Volunteers worked together to identify vulnerable families and deliver essential relief materials directly to them.
The organisers thanked all individuals, organisations and well-wishers who contributed to the relief campaign, stating that their generosity made the large-scale distribution programme possible.
Reaffirming their commitment to humanitarian service, the ABK, ABKYW and AdiSU pledged to continue supporting flood-affected families and urged the public to maintain the spirit of solidarity until normal life is fully restored across the affected areas.
