The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has forecast rain accompanied by thunderstorms and lightning in several districts of Arunachal Pradesh from September 1, with weather activity expected to continue in parts of the state over the following days. According to the district-wise forecast issued by the Meteorological Centre, Shi-Yomi, Dibang Valley, East Kameng, Papum Pare, Anjaw, Changlang and Longding are likely to experience thunderstorms, lightning and rainfall on Tuesday. West Kameng, East Kameng, Papum Pare, Anjaw, Changlang and Longding have also been placed under a weather watch for possible thunderstorms, lightning and rain. On Thursday, similar conditions are expected in Pakke Kessang, Papum Pare, Anjaw, Changlang and Longding, while Pakke Kessang, Papum Pare, Anjaw and Changlang may remain under watch on Friday as the weather system gradually weakens. The IMD’s warning map indicates that most other districts are expected to remain under no-warning conditions during the forecast period. However, residents in the affected areas have been advised to remain alert and take necessary precautions, particularly during periods of intense thunderstorm and lightning activity.
