Tecno has expanded its Pova 8 Pro 5G lineup with a limited-edition model developed in collaboration with Italian lifestyle brand Tonino Lamborghini. The new variant marks the brands’ first smartphone collaboration and brings a more premium design to the handset while keeping most of its specifications unchanged.
The Tonino Lamborghini Edition gets a Tonino Lamborghini Black finish with red highlights and a hexagonal pattern on the rear. Tecno’s Pulse Line design remains part of the phone’s appearance, but the company has added a mirror-like layer beneath it to create a reflective lighting effect. Metallic Tonino Lamborghini branding can also be seen on the back, while the Alive Matrix Display features a customised ‘L’ signature exclusive to the special edition.
The smartphone runs HiOS 16 based on Android 16 and is promised two Android version upgrades along with three years of security updates. It features a 6.78-inch HyperLux AMOLED display with a 2,644×1,208-pixel resolution. The screen supports up to a 144Hz refresh rate, has a pixel density of 429ppi and covers 93.18 percent of the front panel. Peak brightness is rated at up to 4,500 nits, while Corning Gorilla Glass 7i is used for protection.
Under the hood, the phone is powered by the MediaTek Dimensity 7400 Ultimate 5G chipset, paired with an Arm Mali-G615 MC2 GPU. It can be configured with up to 12GB of RAM and 512GB of storage. Tecno’s virtual memory expansion feature allows the available memory to reach up to 24GB.
For photography, the smartphone has a dual-camera setup at the rear. The primary camera uses a 50-megapixel Sony LYT-700C sensor with OIS, while an 8-megapixel sensor is provided for ultra-wide-angle photography. The camera module also incorporates the customisable Alive Matrix Display. A 13-megapixel front camera handles selfies and video calls.
Connectivity options include 5G, Wi-Fi 6, Bluetooth 5.4, GPS, GLONASS, BeiDou, Galileo and NFC. The device also comes with a USB Type-C port and an infrared remote control. It features an in-display fingerprint sensor and includes an ambient light sensor, proximity sensor, G-sensor, e-compass and gyroscope.
The smartphone is equipped with a 6,500mAh battery and supports 45W fast charging. It measures 162.48 x 77.27 x 7.39mm and weighs 189 grams.
Tecno has not yet revealed the pricing or launch date for the limited-edition smartphone. The company has also not confirmed whether it will be made available in India. The standard Pova 8 Pro 5G was launched in India last month at Rs. 49,999.
