Tawang gears up to host 14th edition of international tourism mart in october

Preparations have officially begun for hosting the 14th Edition of the International Tourism Mart (ITM) 2026 in Tawang, a prestigious event to be jointly organised by the Ministry of Tourism and Arunachal Pradesh tourism department during the last week of October 2026.
A preliminary coordination meeting was held on Saturday at the Circuit House to chart the roadmap for the successful organisation of this flagship tourism event.
The meeting was attended by Additional Deputy Commissioner of Tawang, Rinchin Leta, Deputy Director Generals of the Ministry of Tourism, R.K. Suman and Bharati K. Sharma, Assistant Director Amit Raj, Deputy Director of the Department of Tourism Bengia Manna Sonam, District Tourism Officer Tsering Deki, Tourism Information Officer Tenzin Tsamche, Assistant Protocol Officer Sange Tsering, General Secretary of APTOA, and officials from Ashoka Events.
Detailed discussions were held on accommodation, transportation, venue preparedness, security, hospitality, and the proposed programme schedule to ensure seamless execution of the event.
Officials from the Ministry of Tourism and the Department of Tourism also carried out a recce of the entire route from Guwahati to Tawang to assess logistical requirements and visitor experience.
Hosting the International Tourism Mart once again—after its successful edition in 2013—holds immense significance for Tawang.
The event is a unique opportunity to showcase the breathtaking Himalayan landscapes, rich Monpa culture, centuries-old Buddhist heritage, warm hospitality and world-class adventure tourism to delegates, tour operators, media and stakeholders from across India and abroad.
